Duration Brewery – West Acre

For those who have a passion for beer, Duration Brewery is an absolute gem. Nestled in woodlands midway along the Nar Valley Pilgrim Trail, the brewery sits in a stunning location in the ruins of an old priory. It’s a perfect blend of old and new with a modern brewhouse integrated into the ancient ruins that surround it. The farmhouse brewery opened in late 2019 and is attracting accolades from across the length and breadth of the country not just for their fresh beers and wild and blended farm-style ales, but their focus on sustainability and conservation too.

The best way to taste the experience is  at one of their tap days, an al fresco opportunity to sample their  beers accompanied by fabulous food. You can choose from Caribbean roti or burgers on a Friday, Sourdough Pizza on Saturday with guest appearances by The Norfolk Oyster Company too. Tap days run on a Friday or Saturday whatever the weather (don’t panic, their tables are under cover) but note that you must book in advance.  You can visit their shop at the brewery but to slake your thirst at other times, their online shop is the place to go.   For more info see their website

You’ll find Duration just 7 miles from West Heath Barn at Abbey Farm in West Acre. For those with an energetic bent (or who really want to indulge and enjoy the beer) you can make a day of it walking via Peddars Way and the Nar Valley Way. PE32 1UA
