Stody Lodge Gardens – Melton Constable

An absolute feast for the eyes awaits you here, with a stunning collection of rhododendrons and azaleas set in tranquil woodlands surrounding the Lodge House. The azalea water gardens is a particular highlight but everywhere you look there are magnificent displays of vibrant rhoddies in all their glory. The collection now boasts over 200 varieties, and was the source of the Blickling collection too.

Stody Lodge Gardens is open to the public throughout May only – disappointing though make sense as this is the time to view the rhoddies and azaleas at their best. You don’t need to book in advance and there’s plenty of parking. There’s also a tea garden with proceeds supporting local charities though it’s also the perfect place for a picnic on the lawn or in the woodland garden.  For more info see their website

You’ll find Stody Gardens just 23 miles from West Heath Barn (less than a 40 minute drive and perfectly placed to combine with a visit to Holt). NR24 2ER
