Wells-next-the-sea:

The quintessential British beach, studded with colourful beach-huts and with sand stretching away towards an often distant sea, Wells was deservedly voted beach of the year by The Times in 2016. This is a must-visit destination on any trip to Norfolk, though it does get very busy in peak season. Car parking is a bit pricey  and under pressure so get there early. There’s a fabulous  circular walk from Wells to Holkham via the forest and returning along the beach which is well worth the investment of a couple of hours. It’s a delight your dogs (and you) will enjoy. Finish off with afternoon tea in the beach café or sundowners on The Albatross moored by the quay.
